The Best Things To Do While High

You’ve partaken, and you didn’t quite have a plan. Maybe you’re about to smoke and want to make the most of it. This article is a guide for what to do when you’re enjoying cannabis and are at a loss for an appropriate activity. What should you do while you’re high?

How high are you?

Depending on how much you’ve partaken we have some different suggestions for what would be the best activity. If you’ve heavily medicated yourself, with some edibles or a massive hit from a dab rig, then there is a more limited list of options.

Napping– Taking a nap is a godsend when medicated heavily. You can drift off on your couch to a faraway land or fall into a blissful abyss of snoozing. The right kind of cannabis can help you drift off and catch up on some much-needed rest. If toking and sleep is not a right combination for you, then you may be more responsive to CBD products.

Meditation– A cannabis high can help you pour over your thoughts in profound contemplative silence. Your sense of time is often changed while under the effects of cannabis and for some this stretching of time makes it easier to think about what’s on your mind, or perhaps about nothing at all.

Music-Get in a comfy chair put on some quality headphones and pick out an album that means something to you. Most people agree there is something better about listening to music when you are stoned. The part of our brain that draws relations between ideas becomes stimulated when we’re high, and music is packed with metaphors and patterns.

Movies– As long as you pick the movie out ahead of time than watching a film alone or with friends can be significantly enhanced with the power of ganja. Bad action movies become works of art, and crazy old sci-fi takes on an imaginative flair like nothing you’ve ever seen. Also going back and watching any of your favorite cartoons from your youth will blow your mind.

Books– This can be tricky but rewarding. I find that while high I prefer nonfiction to fiction. Although a short read like a pulp adventure novel can come alive with a joint in hand, thicker selections may seem to drag on and erode your attention span. Some people get lost in a thick book though, and a bowl full of good pipe-weed can help you dive even deeper.

Conversation– The ancient art of a good discussion can be lively and enchanting when everyone is puffing away. Enthusiasm about the topic is likely to reach a thunderous tone and beware of getting off track. Cannabis helps you draw relations between subjects and dulls your sense of verbal memory so you can often forget what you were talking about after going off on a tangent.

But a conversation that goes all around the world can be fun and therapeutic. If you are having a more serious chat with a friend, then it may help for only you to be medicated so they can give more focused feedback.

If you’re at a recreational dose, then your options are broader. In addition to the previous activities, the following activities are enjoyable after you’ve had a few puffs on a nice glass hand pipe. In addition to the previous list of activities, there are a host of great hobbies and ventures that are enhanced with cannabis.

Some Sports– Some sports lend themselves to the casual nature of a recreational smoke outdoors. The sports that are good to play high are classicly Ultimate and Disc Golf but don’t forget about Kite Flying, Miniature Golf, and Kick Ball. More intense, full contact sports or games that require split-second reaction time may prove to be difficult.

Exercise– If you don’t prefer rules and teams involved in your physical activity then many forms of exercise can be made better when you stoned. Some good exercises to do while high are jogging and yoga. Both of these activities require patience and mental flexibility. A nice cannabis buzz can help make time slip by while steadily jogging along a trail or help you close your eyes and focus on thoughtfully executing your next pose.

Board games– Traditional games like Clue or Scrabble can take on a new light when with the aid of weed. Don’t worry so much about checking the rules and just play for fun. If you are a regular board gamer then trying out a new game can be loads of fun and the unboxing and first play experience are significantly enhanced. Just make sure to read the rules before lighting up.

Role Playing Games– Back in the mid 70’s Gary Gygax invented D&D and it changed the life of nerds everywhere. As role-playing games exploded in the late 80’s and early 90’s many stoners found that the smokey basements they liked to toke up in also were the perfect environment to explore dank dungeons. Today it’s pretty hip to play Dungeons and Dragons or other role-playing games, and it’s not uncommon to see members of the party loading a bowl or having a beer during the game.

Video Games– The stereotype of the pothead who sits around and just plays Nintendo is a thing of the past. As gaming and cannabis have consistently crept into the mainstream everyone is realizing that the pairing of couch lock and couch co-op were made in heaven.

Playing video games while stoned can be a ton of fun. If you are getting comfy for a night of gaming, we encourage you to play with friends either on the same couch or across a network. Your reaction time may be slowed, so exploration games are great, but you may find your self not racking up as many expert head-shots after a bong rip. For some, the right amount of bud can put them in the zone.

Creative Projects– When its time to sit down and think about how that new garden will look or how you should redecorate the living room it’s often nice to do so with a joint in hand. Let yourself daydream about the possibilities of the space and take time with each idea that comes to mind.

There are loads of great things to do while high. Food tastes unbelievably flavourful. Music sounds incredibly detailed and powerful. You reach a heightened state of empathy – humour is the funniest it’s ever been, horror the most suspenseful, and sorrow the most heartbreaking. Spending that time looking into the love of your life’s eyes will allow you to experience an elated peace like nothing else- it’s like all the bad stuff in the world just stops happening for a while.
